Do you need to sell your home quickly but still want to get the full value on your sale? In this episode of Highest And Best, I’m going to share how Daniel and Lisa were able to sell their home super fast and for top dollar—even when they didn’t think it was possible. I’ll explain what we did to increase their home’s value so they could move on to the next chapter of their lives.
Daniel and Lisa’s Story
Daniel and Lisa were facing a problem that needed a fast solution. Daniel’s company had given him a super short window of time to relocate for the new job he had just been promoted to. This meant they needed to list their Hollywood Hills home and sell it fast—while still getting top dollar.
The property needed some improvements before it could be listed on the market, so I advised them to make some updates. This included new flooring, fresh paint, bathroom upgrades, new kitchen appliances, and staging. I explained to Daniel and Lisa that these changes could increase the speed and the value of the sale.
Like many homeowners, they were super hesitant to spend the money for the improvements—mainly because they had plenty of equity in the property but not a lot of money in savings. They just weren’t aware that there was a totally innovative, out-of-the-box solution for this exact situation.
Our Mint Renovate Program
To allay the couple’s hesitations, I told them about how our Mint Renovate program works. In this program, we front all the costs for the updates. Immediately after Daniel and Lisa saw what a no-brainer this would be for them, they signed my listing agreement. From there, we began managing the entire process—from obtaining bids to overseeing the service providers’ work.

We set a budget of $40,000 for the renovations.
When we put the property on the market, we received multiple offers and closed at a fantastic price of $1.98 million. This gave Daniel and Lisa an additional $140,000 of upside at closing, and they were able to put those additional funds towards the purchase of their new home. Today, Daniel and Lisa are living in a bigger and more beautiful house in Austin than they ever dreamed they could afford.
Thinking Outside The Box
The main thing we accomplished in Daniel and Lisa’s situation was that we were able to take a super stressful job relocation challenge and get their current house sold for top dollar—without Daniel and Lisa having to fork out even one cent for the fix-up. So the next time someone tells you you can’t get top dollar because your house needs work, don’t believe it. Daniel and Lisa thought the same thing, but now they are living in Austin, Texas in a beautiful home.
